Selecting Garage Shelving

Garage shelving is an excellent way to get all of that clutter and unused “stuff” up off your garage floor and out of the way.  Shelving comes in all sizes and shapes and can be found at a wide variety of prices.  The good thing about shelves is that they can be installed just about anywhere you want and are adjustable to fit odd shaped items.  They are an excellent way to get your garage organized and more spacious for those more important things – like cars!

Shelves in your garage will give you that all important feeling of structure in your life.  And, you can’t leave them empty so they will give you the incentive to start organizing!  It will take you some time to get rid of items that you no longer use or want.  For the things you want to keep, you’ll at least have fewer things to gather together for storage.

Your garden tools probably are thrown about in your garage with no particular rhyme or reason.  Hang up what you can with brackets and hooks and then neatly place other items in one place on your shelves.  Putting small items such as gloves and small garden tools in wire baskets makes it easy to retrieve them when needed.  If you have a workbench, put a shelf up above it and store some of your tools there.  Put small nuts, bolts and nails in baby food jars and store them there also.  Store all of your athletic and sport equipment on one shelf in the garage so that you (or your kids) can get to it easily.  Shelves also are excellent places to stack all of those plastic bins containing your lifetime holiday treasures.

Garage shelving will work wonders to make your garage a place that you truly will admire and want to be in.  This is especially true if you use your garage to do your laundry, as a workroom or as a place for your children to play.  You want it to be neat, clean and inviting when you are there.  You also want it to be a safe place to be by eliminating any unnecessary clutter and dirt.  Shelving will help you make your garage a pleasant place that you can be proud of.
